Skills in Dark and Darker are core abilities unique to each class. You can select two of the following skills to suit your preferred playstyle:

  • Adrenaline Rush: Gain 15% action speed for 8 seconds, but lose 8% action speed and 4% move speed for 2 seconds afterward.
  • Breakthrough: Removes move speed debuffs and ignores new debuffs for 8 seconds.
  • Perfect Block: Gain 5 impact resistance for 6 seconds.
  • Second Wind: Recover 40% of your maximum health over 12 seconds and remove the negative effects of Adrenaline Rush.
  • Shield Slam: Inflict 25 physical damage and reduce the target’s move speed by 20% for 2 seconds.
  • Sprint: Gain 3 stacks of Momentum, each giving 15 additional move speed. Lose 1 stack every 2 seconds.
  • Taunt: Increase aggro value to all monsters within 7.5 meters by 50% and gain 10% physical and magical damage reduction for 8 seconds.
  • Victory Strike: Your next attack deals 20% additional physical damage. If the target dies, heal for 15% of your maximum health.

For beginners, we recommend using Sprint and Second Wind. Sprint helps you move quickly in and out of combat, while Second Wind lets you stay in the fight without relying on other healing sources.

Perks in Dark and Darker are unique passive traits. Each class can slot up to 4 perks once they reach max level:

  • Adrenaline Spike: When your health drops below 40%, gain 15% action speed for 12 seconds.
  • Barricade: Gain 50 armor rating and 50 magic resistance while in a defensive stance.
  • Combo Attack: Gain a 10% physical damage bonus for consecutive melee attacks within 2 seconds.
  • Counterattack: Gain 10% move speed and 10% action speed for 3 seconds after blocking an attack.
  • Defense Mastery: Gain a 10% armor rating bonus from equipped armor.
  • Dual Wield: Gain 10% action speed when wielding weapons in both hands.
  • Projectile Resistance: Gain 10% projectile damage reduction.
  • Shield Mastery: Gain 10% move speed in a defensive stance and 50% action speed for the next block after successfully blocking an attack.
  • Slayer: Gain 5 weapon damage when wielding a weapon in each hand but lose the ability to equip plate armor.
  • Swift: Reduce armor move speed penalty by 20%.
  • Sword Mastery: Gain 2 weapon damage and 5% action speed with sword-type weapons and 10 additional move speed in a defensive stance.
  • Weapon Mastery: Use any weapon but lose 10% physical damage when using a non-native weapon.

We recommend starting with Weapon Mastery, Combo Attack, Projectile Resistance, and Swift. As you level up, these perks will help you clear rooms safely and efficiently.

The Fighter can use almost any weapon in the game thanks to the Weapon Mastery perk. We suggest starting with an Arming Sword and Shield or Longsword for melee combat, and a Bow for ranged attacks.

Different stats have various benefits. We recommend prioritizing the following stats on gear:

  • +All Attributes: Provides extra stat points in every attribute.
  • Physical Damage Reduction: Makes the Fighter more durable.
  • Movement Speed: Enhances mobility.
  • Strength: Increases health pool and damage.
