Like finding Marika in Miri Fatja or For Whom The Bell Tolls in KCD2, Forged of Star Stuff in Avowed is one of the many side quests you’ll find while exploring the Living Lands in Obsidian Entertainment’s action RPG. What makes this quest a bit different is that you can start it in any of the four regions, but you can’t really move forward until you unlock the last region.
This quest isn’t too tricky. Most of what you need to do is collect starmetals and give them to the right blacksmith. The catch is that there’s no clear sign of where to find the starmetals. Here’s how to complete Forged of Star Stuff in Avowed.
Completing Forged of Star Stuff in Avowed
To kick off the Forged of Star Stuff side quest, you need to find a starmetal fragment. You can find one in each of the regions: Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks. The quest starts when you pick up any one of these fragments, but remember, you’ll need to collect all four to complete it.
After you have a starmetal, you should ask a blacksmith if they can use it to craft a special weapon or armor. Unfortunately, every blacksmith you meet will tell you they can’t help and will suggest you go to Solace Keep. This is where you’ll find a well-known blacksmith named Forgemaster Dela, who can assist you.
Solace Keep is located in Galawain’s Tusks, the last region you can explore before heading into The Garden. To get there, use the elevator and then go down the stairs to find Forgemaster Dela. When you give him the starmetal, he can create either a Sword or an Arquebus. If you collect all four starmetals, you can get both!
With the first two starmetals, you’ll receive the Meteor Blade (Sword) and the Moonstrike (Arquebus). If you bring him the last two, he’ll upgrade both weapons from Superb quality +1 to +2. Their names will also change: Meteor Blade becomes Ondra’s Offense, and Moonstrike becomes Heavenstrike.
Where to Find All Starmetal Fragments in Avowed
Dawnshore Starmetal Location
The starmetal in Dawnshore is found at the Godless Altar, which is just east of Paradis. You’ll come across this area while heading toward the bridge to Emerald Stair. Go inside, defeat the enemies, and grab the Starmetal Fragment.
Emerald Stair Starmetal Location
In Emerald Stair, the second starmetal is located northeast of Fior mes Iverno, inside the Damp Marrow. You’ll know you’re in the right spot when you trigger the boss fight with Iscern the Troll.
Shatterscarp Starmetal Location
For the starmetal in Shatterscarp, head east of the Ancient Lakebed to find the Abandoned Mine. Climb the rocks and go left to reach a cliff that overlooks a camp spot. The starmetal will be nearby.
Galawain’s Tusks Starmetal Location
The last starmetal is in the Ash Forest, southwest of The Living Archives. You can also follow Destul’s bounty location, which will lead you to the starmetal fragment. Picking it up will trigger a boss fight.
