After you get a Gauntlet Runner and join the succession tournament, you will travel across the country searching for a powerful beast. Should You Help Glodell or Not in Metaphor: ReFantazio?
The best choice is to help Glodell in Metaphor: ReFantazio. Your goal is to gain Louis’ attention, and helping one of his followers will make him notice you. However, this choice doesn’t really change the outcome. Even if you decide to watch the situation unfold, your allies will ignore your decision and insist on helping Glodell.
Helping Glodell will anger Gideaux, and he will start a fight with your party. Since the King’s magic protects the candidate, you must defeat the two fighters with him. One is a Mage Monk, and the other is a Spearmonk. You cannot hit Gideaux, so avoid using area-of-effect (AoE) attacks.
Battle Strategy
- Mage Monk: Focus on defeating the Mage Monk first because he can heal his allies. He is resistant to all elemental magic, so use physical attacks to take him down.
- Spearmonk: After the Mage Monk, target the Spearmonk. He is weak against Ice magic, so use Ice attacks or Cyc to defeat him.
Once you defeat one of his fighters, Gideaux will join the battle. He can use AoE healing magic to restore about 200 HP and may attack with his staff, which can temporarily lower your defense. He also has a move called Mage Shimmer, where he casts Light magic on you.
After you help Glodell, Louis will appear, and you will meet the main villain for the first time. He will ask you some questions, and it’s important to choose your answers carefully to avoid raising suspicions.
