The Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners are in a tricky spot because of their timing. Many players, who are done with Feixiao or Silver Wolf, are eagerly waiting for Rappa and the return of characters like Tingyun or Fugue, especially after the events following the battle with Phantylia. There’s also a new chapter in Sunday’s story after the chaos in Penacony. Despite this, the update offers some excellent 5-star characters, including three strong DPS options and one of the best Tanks available.
Whether you should pull from the Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners depends a lot on the characters you already have.
Who is the Best Character in Honkai Star Rail 2.6 Banners?
Phase 1
In the first phase of Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners, we see the debut of Rappa. Some players are unsure about her place in their teams. Rappa is great for Break Teams because she can ignore enemy Resistance, even though she can’t apply Imaginary weakness. She shines in the Memory of Chaos (MoC) mode, where she can clear many enemies and show her full potential. However, in other parts of the game, characters like Firefly and Boothill might be more useful. Rappa also needs several 5-star teammates from Firefly teams, so if you already have SAM and her team, you might want to skip pulling for Rappa.
Alongside Rappa, the first of the Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners also features a re-run of Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. This Vidyadhara is a strong DPS with a unique mechanic that requires gathering Skill Points to attack more enemies. Sparkle is an ideal partner for him because she can generate more Skill Points. Dan Heng has great 4-star companions and Light Cones, making it easier for free-to-play players to build him effectively. He remains relevant in the game, so if you want to boost his attack, aim for his E2.
Phase 2
In the second phase, Acheron is a character to consider if you don’t have her yet. Although Acheron is a Nihility character, she is one of the best DPS options due to her powerful Ultimate. She works well with both 5-star and 4-star characters, but it’s best to pair her with two other Nihility units. The more debuffs on enemies, the more damage Acheron can deal. Her Signature Light Cone is ideal, but not essential.
If you need a Tank, Aventurine is a great choice. This gambler provides strong shields and Effect Resistance, making it hard for enemies to debuff him. Aventurine’s teams are flexible, as he can work with Follow-Up Attack (FUA) teams, IPC members, Acheron, or Robin. If you team up Acheron and Aventurine, having his Light Cone is beneficial, though there are other 4-star Light Cone options available.
Overall, Acheron is one of the best choices for tackling any challenge in Honkai Star Rail 2.6 banners. If you need a Sustain character, Aventurine is worth the investment of Stellar Jade. Rappa’s value depends on your preferences, as she requires significant investment for her ideal build, and other Break DPS characters might be more effective.
