You can start the Gouge quest in Destiny 2 after you finish Mission: Saturnism and Mission: Transient. Once you’re done with those, Gouge will show up as your next main quest. The goal of this mission is to take down the House of Exile Prime Servitor, which is the final boss for this part of the story.
First Steps: Fighting Enemies and Opening Doors
At the start, you’ll face waves of enemies. Just clear them out and keep moving forward. You’ll soon find doors blocked by force fields. To open these, look for generators nearby. They all look the same—just shoot them to break the force field. Sometimes, a generator will have a shield. If that happens, look around for other generators in the area and destroy those first. The game will show you where to look, so just follow the markers.
Using the Relocator
You’ll need to use the Relocator ability in this quest. When you reach the laser ducts, shoot the Relocator across the lasers to activate the teleporter. Step into the portal, and you’ll find yourself in a maze of ducts and lasers. Keep following the quest markers. When you reach the bottom, look up to your left and go through the duct there.
Drop down, grab the Relocator, and jump back up to the platform. Go through the duct on the right. Inside, use the Relocator to shoot the panel on the other side of the laser doors. Then, turn around, grab the portal, and teleport to the next area.
Matterspark and the Tunnel
Now you’ll get to use Matterspark. Change into Matterspark and go through the small tunnel. When you come out, you’ll face more enemies and a room with traps. Just keep following the markers. Soon, you’ll reach a room blocked by lasers. Here, you need to solve a quick puzzle.
Shoot the relay in the middle two or three times until it points at the bottom of the tunnel. Once it’s lined up, grab the Relocator and shoot at the relay on the wall to open the portal. Go through, and you’ll be ready for the boss fight.
Exile Prime Servitor Boss Fight
The boss fight has three phases. In the first phase, just damage the boss until its shield goes up. When that happens, look for a Relocator in a nearby room. Use it to shoot the relay and open the portal.
Go through the portal, find the shield generator, and destroy it. This will drop the boss’s shield. Go back and damage the boss again. You’ll repeat this process for each phase: use the Relocator, teleport, destroy the generator, and attack the boss.
In the final phase, you’ll also need to use Matterspark, but the game will show you where to go with markers. Just follow them, and you’ll be fine.
Once you beat the boss, the Gouge quest in Destiny 2 is complete. Don’t forget to put the Strangelet into the altar after you finish. This will let you keep going with the story in The Edge of Fate.
