How To Get The Ice Staff In Black Ops 6
Players are required to complete the main story quest in The Tomb map. While you can try your luck with the Mystery Box or the Wonderbar Gobble Gum, crafting the Ice Staff is the only guaranteed way to get it. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Reach Round 8
Start by playing through the early rounds and maximizing your points. Follow the map’s initial objectives to unlock key areas and the Pack-a-Punch machine. By round 8, a Shock Mimic will spawn.
Step 2: Kill the Shock Mimic
The Shock Mimic is a special enemy that behaves similarly to the Mimics from Black Ops Cold War. It can grab you and temporarily zap you if it gets too close. Kill the Shock Mimic to collect the Monocle.
Step 3: Unlock the Door to Nowhere and Activate the Purple Crystal
Next, progress through the map until you reach the Door to Nowhere. This area contains a purple crystal that you need to interact with. Activating the crystal will cause more purple crystals to spawn around the map. You’ll also unlock portals that lead to the Dark Aether Nexus, a key location for crafting the Ice Staff.
Step 4: Solve the Neolithic Catacombs Puzzle
From the spawn area, take the right-side passage to the Neolithic Catacombs, where you’ll find the Deadshot Daiquiri perk machine.
Step 4: Move the Purple Crystal And Shoot the Runes
Look up to find a purple crystal hanging above the room. Shoot the crystal to make it move. It will respawn in a nearby location. Keep shooting the crystal until it moves above the crafting table in the room. Once the crystal is in place, it will illuminate mystical runes on the wall.
These runes must be shot in a specific numeric order. The order changes every match, but the symbols always represent the same values:
- 1 squiggly line = 1
- 2 squiggly lines = 2
- 3 squiggly lines = 3
- V with a squiggly on the left = 4
- V = 5
- V with a squiggly on the right = 6
- V with two squigglies on the right = 7
- V with two full marks on the right = 8
- X with a mark on the left = 9
- X = 10
During the lockdown, enemies will spawn along with a floating wisp-like object. Kill enemies until the wisp moves. This process will take 3–4 waves. Once complete, you’ll receive a Max Ammo power-up and the Head Piece.
Step 5: Solve the Tombs Puzzle
Now, return to the spawn area and take the left-side passage to the Tombs. Look up to find another purple crystal hanging above the room. Shoot the crystal until it moves above the bull mural on the wall.
Just like in the Neolithic Catacombs, the crystal will illuminate runes on the wall. Shoot the runes in numeric order (1–8 this time). If done correctly, the constellation will appear, and another lockdown phase will begin.
Step 6: Build the Ice Staff
Now that you have all three parts, head to the Dark Aether Nexus using any portal. Go to the circular area near the Pack-a-Punch machine, where you’ll find a large stone structure. Interact with the stone to begin crafting the Ice Staff.
Step 7: Protect the Ice Staff
While the Ice Staff is being built, enemies will attack it. Focus on killing enemies with a purple glow, as they specifically target the staff. Once you successfully protect the staff, the wave of zombies will disappear, and you can collect the Ice Staff from the stone.
