The game has a lot more to offer than fighting overpowered main bosses for hours. How to Get to Mohgwyn Palace
Even though it’s secret, the path to Mohgwyn Palace starts early in the game. After the tutorial, you will see the NPC “White-Faced Varre,” who will advise you about the Guidance of Grace and the path to Stormveil Castle.
Step 1: Find Varre
After defeating Godrick the Grafted and visiting the Two-Fingers at Roundtable Hold, return to Varre’s spot at “The First Step” Site of Lost Grace. Varre will be gone, but he leaves a message telling you to find him at the Rose Church.
Step 2: The Rose Church
The Rose Church is in the swamps of Liurna of the Lakes. It looks like a ruined church flooded with blood. Here, Varre gives players Festering Bloody Fingers to invade other players’ worlds. You must use these fingers three times to progress his story, regardless of whether you win or lose the invasions.
Step 3: Become a Knight
After invading three times, return to Varre. He will offer to make you a knight to serve Luminary Mohg, the Lord of Blood. Varre will then ask you to soak a cloth called the “Lord of Blood’s Favor” in the blood of a Finger Maiden.
Step 4: Soaking the Favor
There are two ways to soak the favor in blood:
- Church of Inhibition: Located in the Northeast of Liurna of the Lakes, this church has the body of a Finger Maiden whose blood you can use.
- Chapel of Anticipation: Go to the Four Belfries in the west of Liurna of the Lakes and use the portal at the second Belfry. This takes you back to the Chapel of Anticipation from the start of the game. Defeat the Grafted Scion and use the Maiden’s blood inside the chapel.
Step 5: Getting the Medal
After soaking the cloth, return to Varre. He will give you the Pureblood Knight’s Medal. Use this medal from your inventory to teleport to Mohgwyn Palace.
Alternate Path to Mohgwyn Palace in Elden Ring
There is another way to reach Mohgwyn Palace without Varre’s questline that is a lot easier. If you’re a lot further along in the game and find yourself in the Consecrated Snowfields, you can find a hidden portal northwest of the Yelough Anix Tunnel. This portal also takes you to Mohgwyn Palace.
