If you’re done changing the hairstyles of your character or have gone through the Season 5 boss loot table, then you’ll be happy to know that the Diablo 4 PTR (Public Test Realm) for Season 6 is now available for a limited time. This Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR or Diablo 4 playtest, if you want to call it, acts as a 7-day beta test, allowing players to try out the upcoming season before it officially launches.

Diablo 4 PTR Details and Limitations
Before diving in, it’s important to know that the Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR is only open to PC players. If you’re on PlayStation or Xbox, you won’t be able to participate in the PTR, but don’t worry—Diablo 4 Season 6 officially launches for everyone on October 7, 2024.
PC players using Game Pass or who are subscribers can also access the PTR. The test period runs from September 4 to September 11, 2024, giving players a full week to explore the new changes.
Here are some of the key updates being tested in the Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR:
- New difficulty tiers: Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitent
- Level cap adjustment: The maximum level has been reduced to Level 60
- Torment difficulty changes:
- Torment 1: -250 Armor, -25% All Resist
- Torment 2: -500 Armor, -50% All Resist
- Torment 3: -750 Armor, -75% All Resist
- Torment 4: -1000 Armor, -100% All Resist
- The Pit progression rework
- Glyphs and Glyph leveling rework
- Gear stats and quality changes
- Class balance updates
- Runewords and Rune crafting
- New party finder feature
These changes are part of the testing phase and may not all make it into the final release. The developers will gather feedback from the Diablo 4 playtest and make adjustments before Diablo 4 Season 6 goes live.
How to Join the Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR
If you’re playing on PC, Open the Battle.net Launcher or open the Diablo 4 shortcut and log in. If you’re not already signed in, log into your Battle.net account.
Select Diablo 4 from the game list, and choose Public Test Realm in the Game Version drop-down menu. Download the Diablo 4 playtest. Once the download is complete, you can start playing the Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR.
Keep in mind that you may need to select the Public Test Realm version each time you open Battle.net, depending on your settings. Staying logged in could save you a few clicks next time.
The Diablo 4 Season 6 PTR closes on September 11, after which access to the PTR will end. Also, make sure you have enough storage space, as the PTR installation may require over 120 GB.
