New Capcom Building in Osaka Flexes the Muscles of a Growing Studio

Capcom has officially opened the doors to a brand-new development base in Osaka, and it is not just for show. The new Capcom building is going to be an important part of the company’s development strategy in the future. After seven consecutive years of financial and critical wins, the publisher behind Resident Evil and Street Fighter seems more than ready to level up its operations.

The new Capcom building is located in Osaka’s business district and is designed with an open layout meant to improve creative flow and technical collaboration. It means the Capcom studio teams will have more room (and fewer cubicles) to experiment and push the company forward.

This move is hardly surprising if you’ve been paying attention to the Japanese developer’s trajectory. Over the last few years, Capcom has been hitting high notes like it’s on a tour: Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Street Fighter 6, each one successful and an important part of the company’s live-service strategy.

Capcom says the Osaka studio is a “next-generation” base of operations, not just physically, but creatively. It’s designed to give developers space to innovate and ensure higher quality control across projects. In other words: fewer bugs, more biceps, digital ones, at least.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the RE Engine, Capcom’s in-house tech wizardry, which has been quietly powering much of this success behind the scenes. Capcom says they plan to keep evolving the engine to meet next-gen standards. This could mean more realistic visuals, better optimization, and even more flexibility for upcoming titles.

It’s a bit like a final boss that just keeps unlocking new phases. First, they reinvented survival horror. Then they brought back fighting games with actual balance. Now they’re constructing new headquarters. What’s next, real zombies?

Jokes aside, the new Capcom building is the foundation for what’s to come. Whether it’s fresh IPs or even some franchises that are under development or rising from the grave, this new base will likely be an integral part of it all.
