Developers NEXON’s epic online RPG has entered its first season, introducing a new game mode called Invasion. Solo Invasions Dungeons in The First Descendant features an alternative gameplay mode in which Vulgus invades boss dungeons. Since this is an endgame mode, it’s challenging, especially if you’re playing solo. But no need to worry. If we can help you unlock Ultimate Viessa or beat the Hanged Man, we can certainly guide you through the Solo Invasions Dungeons.
This guide will walk you through Solo Invasions Dungeons in The First Descendant and how to complete them.
Solo Invasions Dungeons in The First Descendant
Unlocking Invasions
Before you can dive into Invasion dungeons, you need to meet certain requirements:
- Finish the main storyline.
- Unlock Hard mode on the open-world map.
- Complete the “How to Hide the Truth” mission along with these subsequent missions:
- What The Destruction Left Behind
- Technology and Power
- Necessary Evil
- A Measure to Enhance The Descendant’s Capabilities
- Altered Design
- Inversion Reinforcement Device
- Isolated Desc
Once you’ve completed these tasks, check the map for regions marked with a red hue—these are the Invasion areas.
What Are Invasions Anyway?
Invasions are solo missions that are puzzle-based. There are three different types, depending on the faction launching the Invasion:
Faction | Activity |
---|---|
Legion of Darkness | Tile color-matching puzzle |
Order of Truth | Drone symbol-matching puzzle |
Legion of Immortality | Artificial Brain collection |
These Invasion types rotate, meaning only one is available at a time, typically for 24 hours. Invasions share areas with Infiltration missions, and you can choose which to do.
To access an Invasion quickly:
- Go to Albion if you’re not there already.
- Head to the Infiltration Operations Terminal (beside the Mailbox robot).
- Open the Terminal and select Hard mode to reveal the Infiltration missions.
- Select the red areas with the Invasion icon.
- When prompted, choose Invasion.
This will teleport you directly to the Invasion area. Completing it within a set time can yield better rewards. Knowing how each Invasion type works will help you finish them faster and avoid frustrations.
Legion of Darkness (Tile Color-Matching Puzzle)
This is likely the fastest and easiest Invasion type. You might already be familiar with it from the mission to get Hailey. Here’s how it works:
- Stand on circular tiles to reveal their color.
- Activate tiles that match the color and pattern on the locked door.
- For the boss, stand on the tile that matches the boss’s color, then shoot the boss.
You can reveal tile colors by standing on the elevated transparent tile platform. Remember the colors and activate the correct tiles. Some enemies can deactivate revealed tiles, so prioritize taking them out—they usually have an exclamation mark above their heads.
Tips for Legion of Darkness Invasions
- Bring Gley with a Rocket spam or unlimited-ammo build.
- Ajax is also a good alternative.
- Use a long-range weapon to deal with enemies that deactivate tiles.
Order of Truth (Drone Symbol-Matching Puzzle)
This is the most challenging Invasion type. Here’s how it works:
- Don’t activate the drone yet—activating the wrong drone results in instant death.
- Go to one of the covered pillars and shoot the cover to reveal a symbol.
- Remember the symbol and repeat this for four pillars.
- Find the drone that shows all four symbols and activate it.
- Pick up the special gun that the drone drops and use it to shoot the locked door.
- If the timer runs out before you destroy the door, you’ll have to repeat the puzzle to get the special gun again.
- Repeat the process for the boss.
While you’re doing all this, hordes of enemies will attack you. Activating the wrong drone will reduce your maximum death count, making this mission frustrating but not impossible.
Tips for Order of Truth Invasions
- Bunny is the ideal Descendant here.
- Bring a precise weapon.
- Note down or draw the symbols to remember them more easily.
Legion of Immortality (Artificial Brain Collection)
This Invasion type is the second most straightforward. Here’s what to do:
- Kill enemies and collect their Artificial Brain drops.
- Deposit the drops into the terminal until the green bar is full.
- Destroy the invulnerability lock on the door.
- Repeat the process for the boss.
The main challenge is completing this quickly—within one minute—or the terminal will reset, and you’ll lose your progress. A fast-killing, fast-moving Descendant is crucial here.
Tips for Legion of Immortality Invasions
- Bring Bunny for her speed.
- Use the Long Distance Maneuvering mod to move quickly.
Completing Solo Invasions Dungeons in The First Descendant can be tough, but with the right strategy and understanding of each Invasion type, you can make it through.
