A Sign of Hope in stalker 2

A Sign of Hope in Stalker 2: Walkthrough

Heart of Chornobyl has a lot of interesting quests like Chasing Ghosts and Like a Moth to a Flame. A Sign of Hope in Stalker 2 is one of the more emotional and morally challenging missions in the game. After arriving at the Noontide’s base on Wild Island, you’ll meet Prof. Lodochka, who explains the situation. A Noontider soldier accidentally turned into a zombie after activating an antenna on the roof. The device emitted a blast of Psi-Radiation, destroying the soldier’s mind.

Your mission is to either put the zombified soldier out of their misery or spare them and turn off the antenna to prevent further harm to the base.

This guide will walk you through A Sign of Hope in Stalker 2, including the choices you’ll face and their consequences in this quest.

A Sign of Hope in Stalker 2: How to Start the Quest

To begin the quest:

  1. Arrive at the Noontide’s base on Wild Island.
  2. Speak to Prof. Lodochka, who will explain the situation.
  3. Accept the A Sign of Hope side quest.

Your objective is to climb to the roof, deal with the zombified soldier, and disable the antenna.

Once you’ve accepted the quest, follow these steps to reach the roof and complete your objectives:

Step 1: Find the Path to the Roof

The main staircase leading to the roof is destroyed, so you’ll need to take an alternate route:

  1. Head outside the base and locate the metal staircase on the side of the building.
  2. Enter the door at the end of the staircase.
  3. Turn left and climb up the wooden plank.
  4. Climb another staircase to reach a new room.
  5. Drop down to the pipe and carefully follow the path.
  6. Pass through another door to exit.

This path will take you outside, where you’ll find yourself on the upper half of the broken metal staircase.

Step 2: Reach the Roof

From the upper staircase, continue climbing until you reach the roof. As you approach the antenna, you’ll be contacted by a Noontider named Khors.

Should You Kill the Zombie?

When you reach the roof, you’ll find the zombified soldier, Kvashka, near the antenna. At this point, you’ll face a moral choice:

  1. Kill Kvashka:
    • If you choose to kill the zombie, Khors will become hostile and attack you.
    • You may have to fight both Khors and Kvashka.
  2. Spare Kvashka:
    • If you decide to leave the zombie alone, you can immediately turn off the antenna without any conflict.
    • This is the better choice, as it avoids unnecessary combat and has additional rewards.

Quest Rewards

Regardless of your choice, you’ll receive the full reward from Prof. Lodochka for completing the quest. However, sparing Kvashka offers additional benefits:

  • Bear Artifact Detector: This is the main reward for completing the quest.
  • Extra Coupons: If you spare Kvashka, Khors will send you extra Coupons as a thank-you. The amount of Coupons you receive depends on your difficulty settings.

The A Sign of Hope in Stalker 2 is a mission that challenges your morality. While killing Kvashka might seem like the logical choice, sparing them leads to better rewards and avoids unnecessary conflict. Plus, it aligns with the game’s theme of making tough decisions in a harsh and unforgiving world.
