Diablo 4: A Quick Start Guide to Season of Witchcraft

Before you start trying out all the Diablo 4 witchcraft powers, you need to familiarize yourself with all the new mechanics and updates in Diablo 4 Season 7. Aptly named the Season of Witchcraft, this season much different compared to the previous seasons like the Vessel of Hatred. A Diablo 4 quick start guide is what you need, and we’re here to walk you through all the new features in the fourth installment of this iconic RPS by Blizzard Entertainment.

Whether you’re a returning player or jumping into the game for the first time, this Diablo 4 quick start guide will help you get ready for everything Season 7 has to offer, including Diablo 4 witchcraft skills.

Diablo 4 Quick Start Guide

Season 7 brings a lot of new content to Diablo 4, including:

  • Witchcraft Powers: A new seasonal mechanic that enhances your abilities, such as boosting minion size or hexing enemies.
  • The Armory: A feature that lets you save and switch between builds easily.
  • Class Balances: Updates to all classes, including adjustments to the Spiritborn.
  • New Season Journey: A fresh set of challenges and rewards to complete.

What Class Should You Play in Season of Witchcraft?

The good news is that every class in Diablo 4 is viable in Season of Witchcraft, thanks to the balance changes introduced in the Loot Reborn update. No matter which class you choose, you’ll be able to handle the new content and experiment with different builds.

That said, the Rogue is looking particularly strong this season, with plenty of powerful builds to try. If you were planning to play the Spiritborn, keep in mind that some of their overpowered interactions have been fixed. They’re still a great choice, but not as broken as before.

New Season Mechanic: Diablo 4 Witchcraft Powers

The biggest addition in Diablo 4 Season 7 is the introduction of Witchcraft Powers. These are similar to the Vampiric Powers from Season of Blood but offer even more variety and customization.

Here’s how they work:

  • Unlocking Witchcraft Powers: You’ll gain access to Witchcraft Powers by completing the seasonal questline, which is available as soon as you start a character in the Seasonal Realm.
  • Categories of Witchcraft Powers:
    • Eldritch: Focuses on damage.
    • Psyche: Focuses on defense.
    • Growth & Decay: Focuses on healing and resource management.
  • Customization: Witchcraft Powers can be tailored to your playstyle, much like the Glyph system.

To unlock more Witchcraft Powers, you’ll need to earn seasonal reputation with the Coven. You can do this by:

  • Completing tasks for the Tree of Whispers.
  • Defeating Headrotten enemies and demons during Witchtide events.

The Best Way to Level Up in Diablo 4 Season 7

If you want to level up quickly in Diablo 4 Witchcraft, here’s the best strategy:

  1. Start the Seasonal Questline: This will unlock Witchcraft Powers early, which are essential for tackling the season’s content.
  2. Focus on Witchtides and Helltides: These events are great for farming XP and resources.
  3. Use Elixirs and Incense:
    • Elixirs: The first tier gives a 5% XP boost, while the second tier gives 8%.
    • Incense: Adds another 5% XP boost. You can stack up to three types of Incense, but the XP bonus doesn’t increase beyond 5%.
    • Combined, you can get a 13% XP boost!
  4. Play on Hard Difficulty or Higher: Normal difficulty is only worth it if you’re farming Aspects of Power. Otherwise, stick to Hard or higher for better XP gains.

If you’re a returning player and not participating in the season, you can still take advantage of the Welcome Back Boost to level up your Eternal Realm character to level 50. This boost is available in Kyovashad.

Quickly Change Builds with the Armory

One of the most exciting new features in Diablo 4 Witchcraft is the Armory. This long-awaited addition lets you save and switch between different builds with ease.

Here’s what you can save in the Armory:

  • Items
  • Skills
  • Glyphs
  • Paragon Boards

The best part? Using the Armory doesn’t cost gold, and it’s available in both the Eternal and Seasonal Realms.

This feature was a fan favorite in Diablo 3, and it’s great to see it finally make its way to Diablo 4. Now, you can easily switch between builds for different activities, like farming the Tree of Whispers or tackling tough dungeons.

Make sure to experiment with the new Diablo 4 Witchcraft mechanics, try out different classes, and take advantage of the Armory to optimize your builds.
