Into the Light update for Bungie’s popular free-to-play shooter has brought back 12 fan-favorite weapons, including the 5 best Brave weapons in Destiny 2. The popular hand cannon has returned stronger than ever. For PvE, the best perks are Firefly and One for All. Firefly increases reload speed and causes explosions that can activate One for All, boosting damage. In PvP, Moving Target and Zen Moment are good, but not as good as other top-tier 140 Hand Cannons. Despite this, Midnight Coup’s power in PvE makes it a must-have, acting like an upgraded Fatebringer.
4. Blast Furnace
Blast Furnace is a 450 RPM Pulse Rifle with a fantastic perk pool. For PvE, Kinetic Tremors with either One for All or Frenzy makes this gun S-tier, as its bursts can trigger explosive damage. In Crucible, Headseeker and Rapid Hit are great for 1v1 duels, and swapping Rapid Hit for Kill Clip allows for quick kills. Its range, ease of use, and perks make Blast Furnace a top choice, especially in PvE.

Luna’s Howl is back as a 140 RPM Hand Cannon with the benefits of a 180, making it stable with minimal recoil. This makes it excellent for airborne combat in PvP. For PvE, Heal Clip and Incandescent are powerful, especially when enhanced. In PvP, you can use Magnificent Howl, which now functions like Hawkmoon, or Precision Instrument for easy three-tap kills. Luna’s Howl is versatile and great for both PvE and PvP.

Edge Transit is one of the best Heavy Grenade Launchers, comparable to the Cataphract GL3 from Trials of Osiris but easier to obtain. The best roll includes Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch. Envious Assassin overflows the magazine, allowing more shots without reloading, while Bait and Switch increases damage by 30%. This combination makes Edge Transit essential for any PvE player.
1. The Mountaintop
The Mountaintop has been revamped with the Into the Light update and is now one of the strongest Special weapons. Its Micro-Missile perk is now part of its origin trait, and it has a permanent Danger Close perk, allowing for rocket jumps. This leaves room for powerful damage perks like Recombination paired with Auto-Loading Holster. While not great for PvP due to low base damage, The Mountaintop excels in PvE, making it one of the best Special weapons for high-damage strategies.
