Completing the Spiders Nest in Brighter Shores is on everyone’s mind because it’s not just another simple mission but also provides valuable rewards to enhance your adventure. Brighter Shores is a unique RPG point-and-click game adventure that reminds many players of Throne and Liberty, but it offers even more in terms of gameplay features and mechanics. You can unlock new professions and level them up to access new quests while exploring Hopeport and beyond.
Early in the game, collecting materials and returning them to the bank for storage can be challenging, requiring multiple trips. However, later on, you can unlock a special quest that helps you get the Storage Rift Spell. Here’s a detailed guide on how to complete the Spiders Nest in Brighter Shores quest.
How to Unlock Spiders Nest in Brighter Shores
To unlock the Spiders Nest quest in Brighter Shores, you need to reach level 32 in Carpentry. Leveling up your Carpentry skills to level 32 can be a bit tedious. Start by reaching level 20 through simple Carpentry tasks. Then, collect enough Knowledge Points and convert them into XP. Keep leveling up until you can get passive training skills, allowing your character to earn Carpentry XP even when you’re away. A good strategy is to buy logs, saw them in the saw machine, and sell them for XP and cash.
How to Start Spiders Nest Quest
The Spiders Nest quest begins when you talk to a person trapped in a spider web on Cliffside Path. Once you reach level 32 in Carpentry, head to the southeast section of Hopeforest. There, you’ll find Toblaine. Speak to him to start the Spiders Nest quest.
Rescue Toblaine
Climb up towards the spider’s nest to reach Toblaine, but no matter which path you take, you’ll fail. After your attempt, Alannor will appear and tell you to gather Tar Rats to feed the spider. Head to the Small Clearing area south of Mine Road East in Hopeforest. Find an NPC named Hamish Truefire, who will give you Tar Rats, but he’ll ask for something in return. You need to collect the following items for him:
- 1 Golden Marrow
- 1 Snake Eyeball
- 2 Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields
How to Get Snake Eyeball
Go northeast of Hopeforest Central to Snakes Path or Snakes Clearing. You’ll find several Vipers here. Defeat them to collect a Snake Eyeball. These creatures are level 8 enemies, so be prepared for a tough fight if you’re still early in the game.
How to Get Golden Marrow
Next, head to the area between Timberwell Road and Timberwell Green. There, you’ll find some regular Marrow to collect. Then, go west to Mr. McGrish’s Garden. Ask Mr. McGrish if you can inspect his Golden Marrow, but he’ll refuse unless you’re from the fruit and vegetable committee. You’ll need to pose as a member, which requires getting a badge.
Go to Huntsman Clearing and talk to Kedwick Shalstanger in front of the Hunter’s Lodge. Ask him if he’s part of the fruits and vegetables committee and request his badge. He’ll ask you to prove yourself by finding and killing a forest mutant. Look for a Spriggan creature around Treeway Junction and Treeway Trail, north of Hopeforest Central. After getting the claw, return to Kedwick to receive your badge.
Now, return to Mr. McGrish to get his Golden Marrow. On your way to the garden, you’ll see some gold paint tins near apple trees. Collect the paint, then enter Mr. McGrish’s residence. Exit through the side entrance, pick up the actual Golden Marrow, and paint your regular Marrow gold. Swap the two Marrows to get the Golden Marrow.
How to Get Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields
Collect 1 Ash Log from Gwen’s Lumber and use it at the Circular Saw. You need to be level 32 in Carpentry to purchase and use this item. After getting two Ash Planks, go to the workbench and turn them into two Uncoated Anti-Acid Shields.
Craft Coated Anti-Acid Shield & Get the Storage Rift Spell
Return to Hamish and place all your collected items into the cauldron. You can now use the Coated Anti-Acid Shield to pass through Acidic Avenue until you reach the Pool of Rainbows. Talk to Marcus Mint here to learn the Storage Rift Spell. This spell allows you to transport items back to the bank without traveling there.
How to Unlock Armor Dyeing in Brighter Shores
Collect water from the Pool of Rainbows using a bucket and take it to the Color Wheel store, located west of Timberwell Side Road. After handing over the bucket of Rainbow water, you’ll unlock the armor dyeing option to customize your armor’s color.
Rescue Toblaine Again
Don’t forget about Toblaine. Return to Hamish to collect the Tar Rat, then head back to the spider nest on Cliffside Path. Be ready for a tough fight, so make sure you’re above level 35. Place the Tar Rat on the Big Flat Boulder to lure the Titan Spider. Once the Titan Spider is trapped, an army of mini Titan Spiders will appear. Defeat them all, then save Toblaine to collect your rewards.
