Apex Legends Arsenal Update has arrived, and here are all the changes and improvements mentioned in the patch notes. Apex Legends has seen a huge rise in popularity. In the world of battle royale games, it has surpassed titles like PUBG and Call of Duty Warzone. It is even going toe to toe with one of, if not the most popular free-to-play battle royale game, Fortnite. Respawn has been taking player feedback into account with all their recent updates. Apex Legends Patch Notes
NEW LEGEND: BALLISTIC
Before the Apex Legends Games, a more brutal competition held sway: the Thunderdome Games! Here, sibling fighters Sok Leng and Kit Siang Phua reigned supreme. They were joined by August Brinkman, Sok Leng’s eventual husband. But when August’s selfish playstyle led to Kit Siang’s death, August would retreat from the Games, from Sok Leng, and their young son, Nate.
August spent decades as a recluse. When Nate decides to follow his family’s legacy into the arena, August returns to strike a deal to reenter the Games in his son’s place.
PASSIVE: SLING
Store a third weapon in the sling. Access via inventory or Character Utility Action Button. The sling weapon cannot take attachments.
TACTICAL: WHISTLER
Shoots a projectile that heats up an enemy’s gun as they shoot. Overheating causes damage. Hold the Tactical to lock on.
ULTIMATE: TEMPEST
Nearby teammates get faster reloads, faster-armed move speed, and Infinite Ammo. The sling weapon will be upgraded to gold.
NEW UPDATES COMING WITH APEX LEGENDS ARSENAL UPDATE
With a fantastic fourth anniversary in the books, EA Games bringing an Arsenal of updates this season. Fear of Fragment? The Apex devs have got some rejuvenations for World’s Edge that are sure to improve drops of all spice levels. But wait, there’s more including the debut of Weapon Mastery, robust updates to the Firing Range, the debut of the Evac Tower, and more!
WORLD’S EDGE MAP UPDATE
With this update, Apex aims to improve the overall Battle Royale experience and bring a healthy set of changes to World’s Edge in Arsenal. Starting with their new Point of Interest, Monument.
NEW POI: MONUMENT
One of the hottest topics for World’s Edge is Fragment East and West. This season Apex has decided to make some changes starting with their new POI, Monument. It is known Fragment is a polarizing spot on the map, and Apex also likes it to boot. their goal was to be delicate and add something fresh to the long-standing map center.
Fictionally, Monument stands as a testament to the Apex Games. Its museum celebrates Apex’s past, present, and future. It’s a shining beacon to the people on the dev team. This a glowing reminder of how far Apex Legends has come since its initial debut in 2019.
The Monument Project has been brought to you by Silva Pharmaceuticals—paving the way to a brighter future at the Edge of the World.
From a design standpoint, Monument is a deep bunker with a quick-access sniper nest for positional control and scouting. The glass ceiling brings an interesting component to the vertically layered fights this space offers. It’s a different pace to the familiar collapsed map center and Apex hopes you enjoy it.
That being said, Apex did make one more big change to Fragment….
NEW POI: STACKS
In their efforts to balance the map’s landing distributions, the tower of the sweat lords had to go. You know the one, built like a stack of pancakes with two ziplines on either end: Fragment’s infamous Construction Stack. Don’t worry, it’s not gone; it was just moved.
Now introducing – Stacks! Apex’s new Point of Interest is on the southern edge.
Built like a red velvet layer cake, Stacks is a crow’s nest that’s all about verticality with its interconnected rooftops replacing the long-forgotten Lava City. Positioned right next to Rampart’s Big Maude, Apex plans for the counterplay here to be high. Did someone say cat and mouse?
LAVA UPDRAFT IS NO MORE
In this Season, Apex has completely removed the “vertical updraft” movement system from World’s Edge. This floaty state above deep Lava Fissures was a remnant of World’s Edge that is no longer needed with Apex’s recent map adjustments. To compensate, Apex has raised the lava floor and it is now walkable. Be careful, it’s hot.
HARVESTER UPDATE
After removing the lava updraft, it was logical to improve the landing experience at Harvester. Threading the needle through the building’s central tube will now bring players to a safe landing platform. “Safe” but also surrounded by lava.
This loot honey pot also provides a new shortcut. You can now catch a zipline across Harvester’s circular arena from below, adding a new approach to fights here. The devs have also created a new vertical connection. An open window that allows players to jump from Harvester’s center room to the platform below. It’s a risky escape route for when your squad is being pinched by predators.
NEW VAULT NEAR SKYHOOK
Apex added an additional Vault for balanced Vault distribution. This North vault is nestled in a tunnel leading to Skyhook. Vault key drops have been increased; Vault loot has been relaxed. Loba mains rejoice.
SNOW IN SKYHOOK
Hammond’s Climatizer technology has made advances in cooling the region down. Additional Climate Seeding Towers have been installed near Skyhook to further their efforts. As a result, Skyhook has received a fresh dusting of snow, opening new pathways and injecting some new life into the area.
MIRAGE A TROIS
This Party POI has left the previous Season’s maps and has now settled in World’s Edge.

Ranked Updates in Arsenal have two main goals:
- Evolving Matchmaking to enable consistently competitive matches.
- Adjusting scoring to further focus on playing the Battle Royale and playing as a team.

CONSISTENTLY COMPETITIVE MATCHES
Earlier in the year, EA Games shared an update on matchmaking: Apex Legends Matchmaking Update. These updates are a core driving force for this season’s Ranked changes.
When looking at their former matchmaking algorithm (that matches players based on their current Ranked Points), Apex noted that RP only had a strong correlation to players’ actual skill at the high end of the play. It had little to no correlation at the lower tiers. For instance, a Diamond/Platinum skill level player who misses a season or two of Ranked may come back to Bronze lobbies due to their absence. This meant RP was not a true representation of a player’s skill and ranked matchmaking had to be revised.
From Arsenal onward, the devs are enabling matchmaking in Ranked based on a hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR). The devs are confident that matchmaking based on MMR will bring the right level of heat to your Ranked experiences. The new matchmaker does value match fairness more than its predecessor, so you may experience a small, but noticeable increase in queue times.

The MMR system is brand new and engineered specifically for the Battle Royale experience. Broadly speaking, your MMR will rise when you are doing well in placements, and eliminating other players and teams will accelerate this growth.
While matchmaking prioritizes creating matches with similar party builds (solos vs. solos, duo + solo vs. duos + solos, etc.), it is not always feasible to find 60 players of similar skill and party size within a reasonable amount of time. Inevitably, parties of different sizes and skills will be mixed. To account for the competitive advantage gained as a premade squad, premade duos and trios effectively have small advantages that are added to their team’s MMR during matchmaking. This way the intensity and fairness of your experience will remain relatively the same whether you’re playing as a solo, duo, or trio.

NEW SCORING SYSTEM
Apex is introducing a new scoring system using Ladder Points (LP) and retiring Ranked Points. The two systems look and feel similar, but will be different under the hood. The new scoring system revolves around Bonuses that amplify your LP gains and mitigate your LP losses. This new system focuses on the Battle Royale goal of the last team standing; the magnitude of these bonuses are directly tied to your placement results.

The differences will be obvious during the match, but your updates in the game will not include bonuses as they are only revealed at the end of the match. Bonuses are based on your placements and the challenges presented in your match – the more difficult a match, the more bonuses you can expect to earn. Remember, bonuses are called bonuses for a reason: they must be earned, are not guaranteed, and are given at the discretion of the system.

In Arsenal, there are 3 major groups of bonuses:
- Elimination Bonuses are given when your team eliminates other players. This bonus is individually calculated and multiple eliminations against the same players are discarded. To be clear: your individual kills, assists, and participations are used. In addition, the Assist Timer has been increased from 15 seconds to 30 seconds.
- Rating Bonuses are given when your hidden MMR greatly outperforms your Ladder Points, helping you catch up to where the system believes you should be.
- Skill Bonuses are given when your team interacts with a stronger opponent or performs exceptionally in an unfavorable match.
The bonus system introduces several complexities that will be hidden under the hood. This will allow the system to intelligently reward you based on the difficulty of your match and premade squad size while filtering for abusive behaviors like kill farming. Bonuses are directly tied to your in-game placements, so make sure you aim to survive and place as high as possible for the best return on Bonuses.

1 to 10th: Bonuses

You may be wondering why the 10th is a special breakpoint in scoring. The key goal of a Battle Royale is to be the last Squad standing – placements are prioritized over eliminations. While Apex does not expect advancing players to consistently be in the last Squad standing, it does expect successful players to be better than half of the lobby. Thus, placing 10th or better is considered a win in the new scoring system. With that reasoning, the per-match point adjustments are tuned to guarantee gains to the top half and losses to the bottom half.
As for entry costs, you will pay an entry cost per game and earn points based on your placements. What’s different is that the entry cost will always be the same. Previously, the harsh scaling entry cost was necessary to filter out unskilled players from higher ranks, but put excessive pressure and focus on eliminations. This effect caused the goals of Ranked to change throughout the tiers. Scaling entry cost is no longer necessary with the MMR system.
EA Games wants everyone of all skill levels to have the same Ranked experience with the same common goal in mind: winning. This helps create a common team goal and helps players learn from each other. It ensures macro strategies from lower tiers continue to be valid throughout the tiers. As a result, they are unifying scoring and standardizing the game across all tiers. Entry cost will be set to be the same value at all tiers, which will also help to relieve entry cost pressure.

The flat 35 LP Match Entry Cost is included in the table below. The value of each bonus will be adjusted based on match placements.

You will start your Ranked journey in Arsenal with 10 Provisional Matches as a way to calibrate your ranking. This is also done at every seasonal reset. You will start from the bottom (Rookie 4), and over the next 10 matches observe your ranking rise quickly toward your skill level. Provisional matches are unique: your losses are fully mitigated and your gains, including other bonuses, are significantly magnified. Doing extremely well in your placements can accelerate your rank climb.

RANKED STRUCTURE
The devs are removing the ranked split reset that happens near the middle of the season and they will only reset your ranking at the start of a season. It is important to note the Ranked progression pacing is adjusted with this split removal in mind.

At the same time, the devs are simplifying the math at each tier by setting each division to 1000 LP, and they are simplifying the nomenclature of tier and points. Instead of saying 5134 LP, they are presenting it as Bronze 3 – 134 LP in-game.

With the new tiers and division widths, they are also revising the promotion bonus and demotion. A Rookie is now a rank that can be demoted.

Ranked reset will fully reset your progress back to 0 LP. Based on your performances in your provisional matches and your hidden MMR, your LP ranking will quickly recalibrate after the 10 provisional games. You’ll also see your projected rank throughout the provisional matches, becoming increasingly accurate as you progress through them.

Finally, to ensure new players are ready for the new Ranked experience, the devs are raising the Ranked Level Requirement to level 50. This will also help slow downSmurfss and give us more time to detect cheaters trying to load into Ranked quickly.

APEX LEGENDS ARSENAL UPDATE WEAPON MASTERY
Weapon Mastery is the first new long-term progression system outside of the account level! As EA Games looks to make Apex Legends more approachable for new players, this system incentivizes learning about the strengths and characters of all their weapons. The goal is to deepen player engagement across the board regardless of who you main or which mode you prefer.
At the season launch, all players will start with every weapon at level 1 and can start progressing their weapon levels by using them in any game mode. Having a weapon in hand, dealing damage, securing kills, and fighting with style will all generate Weapon XP for that weapon.
Every 20 levels, a weapon-specific trial will unlock for you to test your skill with that weapon and reward you for completion. Get your weapon to level 100 and finish all five trials to fully “master” that weapon and earn the final rewards. Each weapon mastery track will earn players weapon-specific badges, lifetime performance trackers, legendary weapon mastery banner frames, and a Legendary Weapon Apex Pack for each weapon.

APEX LEGENDS ARSENAL UPDATE NEW SURVIVAL SLOT ITEM: EVAC TOWER
The Evac Tower is the latest loot item to hit the Outlands. This portable Jump Tower can shape the battlefield in your squad’s favor by offering a quick escape or setting up a deadly assault. Harness the power of the skies, but be careful when you use it – players can destroy the Evac Tower and leave you high and dry!
APEX LEGENDS ARSENAL UPDATE PING SYSTEM UPDATES
Pings are the primary method of non-verbal communication in Apex Legends, and coordination is the key to victory! This season, the system has been updated to better serve the game as it exists today. Some Pings have been removed from the default Ping Wheel with lower usage rates, and several new pings have been added, along with quality-of-life improvements to how pinging operates in-game.
On the default Ping Wheel, you will see 3 new pings:

You will also see an expanded set of options when you are Downed or in Dropship for the initial drop into the BR.

This season will have some updates to the LiveAPI based on player and developer feedback. These include improvements to existing functionality and messages, new events, and extensive additions to documentation including some examples in Python.
- Support for Secure WebSockets (WSS) server connections
- Configurable SSL verification, to allow self-signed certificates
- Request validation through a pre-shared key mechanism that can be specified through `cl_liveapi_requests_psk`
- Newly added game event broadcast delay that affects only real-time WebSocket connections, configurable through `cl_liveapi_ws_event_delay`
- Additional documentation and snippets were added to the events.proto file
- Includes sample values, code snippets in Python, and expected API behavior
- Change for API request acknowledgments not behaving as intended
- Introduction of the RequestStatus message for more detailed explanations
- Fix for 4KB message payload truncation seen mostly when using JSON data format
- Fix for PlayerRevive event where the revived player field was incorrectly typed as a string instead of a Player message
- New WarpGateUsed and ObserverAnnotation events
- The downgrade of most uint64 fields to uint32 to ensure serialization as numbers and not strings in JSON
- All timestamp fields remain as uint64. Developers should take note when using JSON data format instead of Protobuf.
