Diablo IV Update 1.1.1 Analysis: A Comeback

Diablo IV released the follow-up update to the big update that nearly killed the game, and this is Diablo IV analysis for the latest update, Diablo IV update 1.1.1 Analysis. The devs have made changes and improvements where necessary and a lot of them might be quite effective, such as all classes have been buffed, especially sorcerer who needed the most help, and Legendary’s drop sources have been increased. Diablo IV Classes Buff

As already mentioned, all classes have been buffed. A quick mention to all the classes will be given below:

  • Barbarian’s Fury gain is increased, damage reduction in general and during earthquakes along with the damage bonus in earthquakes has also increased. Core Refund also works on bosses now.
  • Rain of Arrows for rogue now CC’s enemies for 3 seconds from the first wave. Every third Primary Forceful Arrow cast will pierce enemies. Dashing automatically drops smoke grenades at the end of the dash, and smoke grenades reduce dash’s cooldown by .4-.6 seconds per target hit, up to 2-3 seconds.
  • Druid’s Spirit gain is increased, wolves active and passive damage also buffed. Brutal Ravens increases the damage of Ravens by 40%. Mangled Aspect’s resource gain has been increased to 3.
  • Esu’s Ferocity applies both bonuses when hitting a boss with crits as Sorcerer, Combustion’s burning effects deal x20% increased damage, plus an additional x2% increased damage per unique source of burning you have applied to the enemy. A New Legendary, Mage-Lord’s Aspect was introduced. It increase Vyr’s Mastery Key Passive’s Damage Reduction by 6-9% for each Close enemy, up to 18-27%.
  • Balrog’ Fire Breath and Elite Affixes; Fire Enchanted, Electrified Obelisks, and Shock Lance deal reduced damage to Necromancer’s minions. Aspect of Torment’s Essence Regeneration increased from 20-30% to 90-170%.

Sorcerer is more playable now, since the class has finally gotten some attention. All of the buffs could not be mentioned in this Diablo IV Analysis but for more in-depth detail, you can always read the raw patch notes here.

Gameplay Changes

  • Helltide and Nightmare dungeon monsters above level 60 (not including level 60) have increased health.
  • Level 35 bosses and higher guarantee a legendary drop.
  • Treasure Goblins now have an increased Legendary item drop chance from Level 6-14 and guarantee a Legendary item drop starting at Level 15.
  • Legion events guarantee a legendary drop starting from level 35.
  • Interactions with barriers have been slightly tweaked:
    • Bonus damage and effects will seemingly ignore barriers now.
    • Cheat death effects will now work as intended with active barriers.
    • Applies in PvP as well.
  • The cost of refunding skill and paragon points has been reduced and scales with the level you’re at, capping at 40% when you’re level 100.
  • The stack limit for elixirs is now 99
  • Resource Burn, Backstabbers, and Empowered Elites (Cold Enchanted) affixes have been removed from Nightmare Dungeons.
  • Caged Heart of Spell Breaking’s use has been changed to; Upon taking Elemental Damage, gain 10-20% Damage Reduction for 5 seconds.
  • Temerity’s + All stats has been replaced with Max Life and Barriers scale off of your maximum life.

These were all gameplay-related changes in the Diablo IV Analysis.
