Rockstar has finally confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will be making its debut on Netflix before the month ends. Instead of simply releasing GTA 6 Trailer 3, Rockstar is giving fans something bigger. Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look promises a much deeper dive into the highly-anticipated AAA game by featuring more GTA 6 gameplay. The special event will be available to stream on Netflix starting Thursday, August 27 at 12 pm Pacific, 3 pm Eastern, and 8 pm UK time.
If you do not have a Netflix subscription, there is no need to worry. Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look will also be available to watch on YouTube, just six hours later. The official YouTube stream goes live at 6 pm Pacific, 9 pm Eastern on August 27, or 2 am UK on August 28.
Those already subscribed to Netflix can set a reminder for when this show becomes available to watch at netflix.com/GTAVI. This is what the program listing says: “Coming August 27: See an extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6, the next evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series.”
Netflix described Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look as a “first-of-its-kind partnership” between Rockstar and the streamer itself on a blog post. “The new iteration in the blockbuster series comes 13 years following the debut of GTA 5, the same year that Netflix was beginning its push into original programming,” Netflix said. “This collaboration represents the next generation of storytelling and content on Netflix.”
“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right,” said Netflix’s VP of Nonfiction Series, Brandon Riegg. “The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto 6 is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first. It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”
500 Days Later, Fans Are Still Waiting For More GTA 6 Gameplay
Fans are more excited than ever, especially after such a long wait for GTA 6. It has been 500 days since Trailer 2 dropped back in May 2025. That trailer still shows the old release date, which feels like ages ago. Many expected Rockstar to release a new trailer with the updated release date and preorder details, but that is not happening this time.
Given that this is the most expensive game ever made, it is no surprise that Rockstar has teamed up with Netflix to showcase gameplay from one of the most anticipated games in history.
