Lies of P stands out as one of the top titles in the Soulsborne genre, not made by FromSoftware. Now, the game’s developer, Neowiz, has confirmed in its Q1 financial report that the full-scale development of a Lies of P sequel is officially underway, following the successful approval of its prototype.
Thanks to its overwhelmingly positive response, Lies of P proved to be a major success for Neowiz, attracting 7 million players in just six months and selling 4 million copies worldwide. The game’s DLC, Overture, also helped stabilize the company’s revenue this quarter, making the development of a sequel a logical step forward, not only to satiate the game’s fans but also to support the studio’s growth.

Lies of P Sequel Will Use Unreal Engine 5 And Feature a More Open-World Design
Neowiz has already confirmed that, unlike the original, the Lies of P sequel will be developed using Unreal Engine 5. The sequel is also expected to have a more open-world design. The first game took obvious inspiration from Hidetaka Miyazaki’s work, and the idea of an open-world setting for the Lies of P Sequel doesn’t seem too far from FromSoftware’s foray into a sandbox environment for Elden Ring.
At the Golden Joystick Awards, Game Director Choi Jin-Won told GamesRadar+ that he would “not disappoint” fans with the upcoming sequel. But Neowiz did not share any additional details about the sequel in its financial report. However, there are rumors that Lies of P could be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. The aforementioned rumors also suggested a potential new IP that might also currently be in the works.
With full-scale production only just beginning, it might be quite a while before we get an announcement for the souls-like game’s sequel, with the release being even further down the line.
