PlayStation Showcase 2023 Date Announced For Next Week

An announcement for a PlayStation showcase stream for the games lineup for the new consoles, the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation VR2 was recently made. It will be held next week. This is something PlayStation hasn’t done in a while and fans are hyped, wishing their hopefully future favorite games’ release dates will be announced.

PlayStation Showcase

Announced in a PlayStation Blog post, there will be a one-hour-long stream, mainly featuring the new games coming to the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. It will be held on May 24th and it is expected to start at 1 pm Pacific / 3 pm Eastern on PlayStation’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

Fans are not sure what to expect in this event but Sony said to showcase multiple games from the top companies of the world that are in progress, “a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios” and games from third-party indie partners as well. It is expected for Sony to finally unveil one of their ‘yet to be released’ games like the massively anticipated game title Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It is one of Sony’s games which they have not shown much about but one which was already expected to release in Q3 of 2023.

Fortunately, we could get new game titles, as Sony promised to release several new creations. PlayStation could also be giving us a curveball with things such as The Last of Us multiplayer entry, which was teased by Sony’s first-party studio, Naughty Dog.

Sony made a trend of only opting for smaller events where only a single game would be showcased. A similar event to the current PlayStation showcase was last held around September of 2021. In that event, game titles like God of War: Ragnarok were revealed, an announcement for Spider-Man 2 was made, a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake was announced.

Speaking of Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six Siege is getting its Y8S2 content in the form of a new operation; Operation Dread Factor. It features a new operator, new gadgets, maps reworks, and more.
