The Crown in the Throne Room in Blue Prince
The Throne Room is not available by default. You’ll need to unlock it through a series of steps:
- Activate the Boiler Room: This is necessary to progress through the game and access certain areas.
- Complete the Laboratory Puzzle: Solving this puzzle reveals a hidden area called Blackbridge Grotto, which contains one of the three Microchips.
- Collect All Three Microchips: Place the Microchips in the pedestal’s indentations to unlock the Throne Room blueprint.
- Draft the Throne Room: Once unlocked, the Throne Room will appear as a rare drafting option. Entering it for the first time rewards you with a Sanctum Key.
Inside the Throne Room, you’ll see the message: “Reclaim the crown!” To do this, you must bring three specific items—the Crown, the Scepter, and the Stone—all in a single run.
Where to Find the Crown
There are two crowns in the game, but the one you need is the Crown of the Blueprints, which is located in Room 46. Gain access to Room 46 by carefully drafting your manor layout. Once inside Room 46, you’ll find the Crown of the Blueprints on a desk.
The second crown, the Red Crown, is found in the Closed Exhibit, but it is not required for reclaiming the Throne Room.
Where to Find the Scepter

Complete the Castle Cipher Puzzle located in the crypt and get the Key of Aries. Unlock the Treasure Trove using the Key of Aries, and then claim the Royal Scepter inside the chest. It is worth noting that the chest only appears if the Treasure Trove is drafted outside.
The Royal Scepter allows you to influence the color of rooms that appear as drafting options. For the Throne Room, you must select the blue color.
Where to Find the Stone
The “stone” refers to the Cursed Effigy, which is found in the Shrine. To obtain it:
While inside the Library, draft the Book Shop and purchase a book called The Curse of Black Bridge for 40 gold. Request the book in the Library and read it the next day. This unlocks the Cursed Coffers in the Gift Shop. Buy the Cursed Coffers from the Gift Shop and draft the Shrine. You’ll find a stone chest containing the Cursed Effigy.
Warning: The Curse
Picking up the Cursed Effigy will curse you for two days. The curse causes you to lose resources whenever you draft certain rooms:
- Bedrooms, Hallways, Green Rooms, or Shops: Lose one step, key, gem, or gold.
- Red Rooms: Lose one of every resource.
To avoid the curse interfering with your run, store the Cursed Effigy in the Coat Check. Retrieve it only when you’re ready to reclaim the Crown in the Throne Room in Blue Prince.

Use the Banner of the King: Complete the Chess Puzzle and select the King power. This allows you to influence room colors. Choose the black color later in your run to balance out the blue rooms.
- Gain Extra Steps: Draft the Pool followed by the Sauna to gain a +20 steps buff.
- Stock Up on Rerolls: Collect Ivory Dice from the Boudoir, Laboratory experiments, or the Geist Room upgrade. Alternatively, use the Observatory’s Inkwell constellation to reroll room options.
Reclaiming the Throne Room
Once you have the Crown of the Blueprints, the blue Royal Scepter, and the Cursed Effigy, follow these steps:
- Draft the Throne Room: Place it near the Antechamber or Room 46 for easy access.

- Enter Room 46: Use the lever behind the throne to unlock the northern Antechamber door and grab the Crown of the Blueprints.

- Reward: The Throne of the Blue Prince
After completing the Throne Room challenge, you’ll unlock the Throne of the Blue Prince, an upgraded version of the Throne Room. This ascended room has a blue color and offers a unique perk:
