While the upcoming GTA 6 has a solidified release date, its pricing may not be set in stone, according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick. The company still hasn’t officially confirmed what the price is, but it may or may not be as expensive as we previously thought. According to prior leaks and announcements, the base game will cost $80, while the complete game with GTA Online will cost $120. Other than the Grand Theft Auto 6 price, Zelnick also hinted at an LA Noire sequel.
Zelnick added that the company’s core priority is to deliver value according to the price, and that the buyers should feel like “the thing itself is amazing and the price they were charged was fair for what they got.”
Considering it like this, the company’s CEO was justifying the seemingly high pricing, but when you take into account how long the game has been in development and the costs of said development, the leaked prices start to seem pretty fair.
Other than the pricing of GTA 6, Strauss Zelnick confirmed that a lot of people will be “calling in sick on November 19,” which means that the release date is likely not going to slip into 2027 once again, and people can actually mark the calendar without fear this time (probably).

Strauss Zelnick Talked About More Than the Pricing of GTA 6
He also told IGN that although LA Noire isn’t definitely getting a sequel, the mere mention of the game means that the detective title is still alive and might just have a future. For those who remember, Team Bondi did have an LA Noire sequel under development at some point, which was later lost to time.
“Broadly, we’re looking at doing something in the future with all of our intellectual property, there’s nothing to announce on LA Noire specifically, and if there were, it would be Rockstar announcing it, not me. But in any case, with regard to our legacy IP, the teams are always looking at what we have, and we’re always thinking about it. The question is, at any given time, do we have a team that’s passionate about working on that?”
The company’s CEO rightfully added that Rockstar is “terrified” since he doesn’t know how to measure the success of the game. But the company wants to make the “most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history,” which is probably why the company has constantly been delaying it.
GTA 6 is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but the price is still up in the air.
