Capcom leaker Dusk Golem has confirmed that Ada Wong will appear in the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem DLC, backing up a claim from an anonymous insider. After Dusk Golem identified this insider as his source, Reddit users quickly uncovered more Capcom-related rumors from the same person. However, Dusk Golem made it clear he does not support these additional claims, especially the ones about a Devil May Cry 1 Remake and a new Resident Evil 10 protagonist.
These claims range from talk of a Devil May Cry 1 remake to new project codenames, development timelines, and what might follow the record-breaking success of Resident Evil Requiem, now the fastest-selling game in Capcom’s iconic horror series.
The most interesting rumor is that a full remake of the original Devil May Cry (DMC), which debuted on PlayStation 2 back in 2001, is now in active development. While there are no extra details yet, this is a big deal, especially since the series hasn’t seen a new main installment since Devil May Cry 5 in 2019. Capcom has never confirmed any remake plans for DMC thus far.
While Devil May Cry isn’t as big as Resident Evil or Monster Hunter, the latest entry was no slouch; it was both a critical and commercial hit, selling about 11 million copies. That success makes a remake project a reasonable prospect. However, the new game would move forward without director Hideaki Itsuno, who led every DMC except the original and the Ninja Theory spin-off. Itsuno left Capcom in 2024 after launching Dragon’s Dogma 2 and is now developing a new action title at Tencent’s LightSpeed studio.

What Else Is Capcom Planning Besides A Devil May Cry 1 Remake?
Other than the Devil May Cry 1 Remake, the leak also reveals Capcom’s alleged Resident Evil remake plans. According to the insider, a key meeting in mid-2022 set four major projects in motion:
- Project Chambers — Resident Evil Zero remake
- Project Fallen — Resident Evil 1 remake
- Project Redlife — Resident Evil 10 (mainline sequel)
- Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake (no codename given)
These codenames are new, but the rest match what Dusk Golem has been reporting for over a year. The leak also claims that both Project Chambers (Zero) and Project Redlife (RE10) will run on the REX Engine, which is an updated in-house engine separate from the RE Engine used since Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
Project Redlife, which is said to be Resident Evil 10, will reportedly feature Claire Redfield as the main character. Claire hasn’t led a main game since Code Veronica in 2000, so this would be a big return, especially with the Code Veronica remake set to bring her back for new fans. The remake of Code Veronica is rumored to be announced soon, possibly at next month’s Summer Game Fest, with a release in early 2027. The Zero Remake could follow in 2028, then the RE 1 Remake in 2029, and RE10 around 2030.
The leak also confirms that Resident Evil Requiem has more than one story DLC planned, whose mini-game DLC dropped recently and is confirmed to be followed by a story expansion DLC. As always, these leaks, albeit corroborated, are still not official and should be taken with a healthy helping of salt.
