Before you take on the Twisted Tree, you need to figure out how to find Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As Naoe or Yasuke, finding Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows can be tricky, especially since the early-game quest, Stolen Faith, doesn’t give you clear directions. Mitsumune is a key ally in your mission to take down The Wounded, and you can’t progress the story without meeting and helping him. If you’re stuck, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered.
Here’s a detailed guide on how to find Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and complete the Stolen Faith quest.
How to Find Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

As part of the Stolen Faith quest, you’ll need to locate Mitsumune at Nunobiki Falls, which is just north of Amagasaki. To make things easier, we recommend climbing the fast travel viewpoint at Amagasaki Castle, located on the western side of Izumi Settsu. Unlocking this viewpoint will give you a better idea of the surrounding area.
From Amagasaki Castle, head north into the hills. Look for landmarks marked with a “?” on your map, as these will guide you toward Nunobiki Falls. Once you’re close enough, the game will highlight Mitsumune’s exact location. You’ll find him at the bottom of the falls, washing clothes. Approach him and start a conversation to continue the quest.
How to Retrieve Mitsumune’s Stolen Statue

Mitsumune won’t agree to help you right away. First, you’ll need to do him a favor by retrieving his stolen statue from a group of local bandits. Their camp is located at Toneyama Post Town, which is in the Senri Hills area, east of Nunobiki Falls. On the map, the town is north-northeast of the “Senri Hills” label.
Once you reach Toneyama Post Town, you’ll notice that the statue is kept in a heavily guarded building in the middle of the camp. To pinpoint its exact location, press L2/LT to scan the area and look for a blue dot, which marks the statue’s position.
To infiltrate the camp, use the rooftops as your main path. This will help you avoid most of the guards. However, if any enemies block your way or pose a threat, don’t hesitate to take them out quietly. Once you reach the building, break in, grab the statue, and retrace your steps back to the rooftops to make a clean escape.
After successfully retrieving the statue, return to Nunobiki Falls and give it back to Mitsumune. Once you do, he’ll agree to join your cause and help you in your mission. However, this is just one part of the larger quest to assassinate Wada Koretake. Later in the quest, you’ll face a critical decision: whether to side with Yaya or Mitsumune in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Choose wisely, as this decision will impact the story.
