While riding the Kuku Bird while doing the Blix Bounty is fun, riding a giant Crimson Desert Iguana is even more cooler. There are two iguana mount variants in the game: the giant Crimson Desert Green Iguana and the giant Crimson Desert Red Iguana. Both versions share the same stats. The only real difference is how they look, which is why many players end up hunting down both for collection value.
Iguanas are massive mounts built for crossing open, dry terrain without slowing down. If you’re trying to expand your mount stable, we’ll explains exactly where to find each Crimson Desert Iguana and what you need to tame them.
How to Find the Giant Crimson Desert Iguana
Before you set off, you’ll need a lot of fruit and vegetables from Grocers to feed and tame iguanas. Turnips are a strong choice because they give +40 Trust. You can harvest turnips at Glenbright Farm in Hernand, or buy them from the Grocer in Tomasso.
Crimson Desert Green Iguana Location

If you want the Green Iguana, head to the City of Tommaso, Tashkalp. You’ll find multiple Giant Green Iguanas resting in that area.
These are pre-tamed iguanas, but there’s a catch. You’ll need to steal one, so wear a mask before you try to take it.
Once you hop on, immediately ride away from the area to avoid building a wanted level. After you’ve put enough distance between you and the city, open your inventory. Hold X/A on a Turnip and choose “Feed” to give it food. Keep feeding until the iguana hits +100 Trust. At that point, interact with the iguana and press Triangle/Y on “Take in” to register it as your permanent mount.
Crimson Desert Red Iguana Mount Location

For the Red Iguana, go to the Iguana Hatchery. It’s located just under the “R” in “Crimson” on the map.
These iguanas are aggressive, even with riders present. You’ll need to clear the area by killing the riders and iguanas, but leave one Giant Red Iguana alive so you can claim it.
Next, use Force Palm to subdue it. Once you deal enough stun and damage, you’ll be able to mount the iguana. However, mounting it doesn’t mean it’s tamed yet.
To tame the Crimson Desert Red Iguana, feed it meat, fruit, or vegetables. Turnips are still the best option because they give +40 Trust. While sitting on the iguana, open your inventory, hold X/A on the Turnip, and select “Feed.” Once you reach +100 Trust, press Y/Triangle to claim it and make it yours permanently.
That’s how to get both variants of the Crimson Desert Iguana mount, whether you’re going for the Crimson Desert Green Iguana first for convenience or the Crimson Desert Red Iguana for the more combative capture. For more Crimson Desert content, stay posted to RetroNoob.
