Capcom has just released a free DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, introducing a brand new game mode that sends Leon Kennedy on his most challenging mission so far. After a few days of teasing two upcoming DLCs, Resident Evil Producer Masato Kumazawa promised the mini-game would arrive after Japan’s Golden Week, which runs from May 2nd to May 6th, and Capcom has now delivered right on schedule.
The new DLC, fittingly titled Leon Must Die Forever, makes one think that Capcom is determined to make its protagonists suffer, with the title being a clear nod to Devil May Cry’s harder difficulty setting, Dante Must Die. This free minigame is now available across all platforms, including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW. Check out the trailer for a first look at the action:
Resident Evil Requiem Free DLC: Everything You Need To Know
Players can unlock Leon Must Die Forever after finishing the main story. In this mode, you’ll step back into Leon S. Kennedy’s shoes and battle through familiar locations, facing tougher enemies on the way to a final boss showdown. With five difficulty levels and a race against the clock, the challenge is set to keep even experienced players on their toes.
Defeating enemies fills an enhancement gauge, unlocking special abilities unique to Leon Must Die Forever. Each run offers a different order of areas and new options for Leon’s abilities, making every playthrough feel fresh and boosting replay value.
Alongside the new game mode, Capcom has also released several other updates for Resident Evil Requiem. They include bug fixes across all platforms and add PC support for the DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion sensor features.
As for the second DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has yet to reveal its release date. It might not arrive until late 2026 or even early 2027.
